Recognising the critical importance of environmental stewardship, we pledge to align our sustainability policies and goals with the guidelines set forth by the Student Education Travel Organisation (SETO). This alignment reflects our dedication to creating meaningful and responsible travel experiences while minimising our environmental footprint.

Student Horizons is committed to implementing sustainable practices across all aspects of our operations. Our key focus areas include:

Welfare

We strictly adhere to best practices in animal and child welfare, as well as anti-slavery and human trafficking policies. This ensures the ethical treatment of all individuals and animals involved in our programs.

Education

As an educational travel provider, we aim to empower young Australians to become future agents of change. Our programs incorporate sustainability education, fostering environmental awareness and critical thinking skills.

Paper Reduction

We are actively working to reduce paper usage across all operations, implementing digital solutions where possible. This includes promoting digital ticketing to minimise paper waste.

Plastic Elimination

Our goal is to reduce and eventually eliminate single-use plastics from our supply chain. We encourage the use of reusable water bottles and other sustainable alternatives.

Carbon Management

We are committed to measuring, offsetting, and reducing our carbon emissions in line with science-based targets. This aligns with the Science Based Targets initiative (SBTi) framework for corporate climate action.

Nature Conservation

To minimise our impact on over-touristed areas, we are reducing time spent in exploited locations and promoting initiatives that support conservation efforts. We actively avoid activities that contribute to nature exploitation.

Waste Reduction

We provide comprehensive guidance to our clients on reducing waste during their trips, including proper recycling practices and the use of reusable items.

Equality, Diversity, and Inclusion (EDI)
