A message from Managing Director Jamie Wansey

Good day everyone,

The COVID-19 global situation has created an unprecedented set of circumstances for the global travel industry and like all travel businesses, we are not immune to the economic impact.

Over the last three weeks, I’ve been consulting with our advisory board and our finance partner KPMG on how best to revise our business structure to ensure the long-term sustainability of Student Horizons. We have made some really difficult decisions and taken decisive action to responsibly manage Student Horizons through this difficult period.

In both New Zealand and Australia, the Student Horizons team have been fronting up personally to our schools to address the concerns of parents and discuss the options available to each group around cancelled trips. I’ve been humbled and inspired by the resilience of families, the spirit of my team and the support from schools and suppliers as we work through this together.

We are optimistic and hopeful that this crisis will pass and we are grateful for the support and loyalty of our clients and suppliers during this difficult time.

Here at Student Horizons we are very much up for the challenge ahead.
