Student Horizons is a proud sponsor of the 2019 Queensland Independent Secondary Schools Rugby League Carnival (QISSRL) and the Queensland Independent Secondary Schools Netball Carnival (QISSN). Shalom Catholic College, Bundaberg has the privilege of hosting the QISSRL “Confraternity Shield Tournament” and QISSN Carnival from Sunday 30 June to Friday 5 July, 2019.
The Confraternity Rugby League Carnival is the largest independent schoolboys (16-18 years of age) rugby league carnival in Australia. It will attract approximately 1000 schoolboy rugby league players from 48 secondary schools throughout Queensland, from as far away as the Gold Coast to Mt Isa to Cairns. The carnival has a proud history of nurturing rugby league excellence with many past participants going on to forge careers as professional rugby league players. The 2019 carnival will have national exposure as many NRL clubs will have scouts at the carnival to view and sign players to begin a career in professional rugby league.
The QISSN Carnival is the premiere secondary school netball competition in Queensland. The 2019 QISSN carnival will attract approximately 640 school girl netball players from 64 secondary schools throughout Queensland. Nearly 7000 girls have participated in QISSN in its previous 19 carnivals, with a number of previous participants going on to represent their state or country at a professional level.
The team at Student Horizons is honoured to be part of the QISSRL and QISSN carnival, and is looking forward to some competitive matches.
