Iona College had a memorable 61st birthday celebration while travelling on their inaugural Sri Lanka Missions and Pilgrimage Tour in October. The group travelled to Jaffna in the far north to meet their brother school, St Patrick’s College, where Iona College’s founder was also rector for almost two decades.
The St Mary’s College Sport and Culture Tour to New Zealand was one that won’t be forgotten! 42 incredibly polite and friendly students set off to New Zealand to learn more about the New Zealand culture, play netball or futsal or sing in the choir.
Mount Albert Grammar’s music students experienced the best of Melbourne on their one-week music tour. As the cultural capital of Australia, the students were blown away by the street art and general freedom of expression that seems to take hold of the whole city.
In July 2018, Mt Albert Grammar School took to the Hollywood Hills to discover the secrets of the movies. The tour told the stories of Paramount, Warner Bros and Universal Studios and gave students an appreciation of the variety of artists required to bring a scene to life.
From Auckland to Hamilton, via Rotorua, the girls from Belridge Secondary College in Perth played against highly competitive Kiwi opposition, whilst experiencing the beauty and excitement New Zealand’s North Island has to offer on their ten-day netball tour.
The St Joseph’s Nudgee College Under 15s rugby tour to Fiji was a huge success. For most of the 40 boys, this was their first school tour and they were buzzing with excitement. The boys travelled with two teams winning five out of their six games on tour, putting them in good mind frame leading in to their rugby season.
From pristine beaches to world-renowned music venues, the student ensembles from Hamilton Boys’ and Hamilton Girls’ High Schools were immersed in all that Sydney has to offer on their July 2018 music tour. The group spent just over a week exploring the colourful history that has shaped Sydney’s vibrant music and cultural scene.
